Surfing
In Mundaka, just 500 yards from the Portuondo Campsite, you can find what are reputed to be the best surfing waves in Europe. 

Sports and Mountain activities
The area offers numerous sporting activities, from mountain hikes to programmed excursions to the Urdaibai estuary, or lessons in surfing, canoeing, sailing, and subaquatic or rod-and-line fishing

Beaches
Sunbathe on the beach next to the campsite, or visit other beaches in the area; Mundaka (500 yds away), San Antonio (1/2 mile), Laga (12 miles), Bakio (10 miles) or Laida (opposite the campsite)

Cultural tourism
In the province of Vizcaya and within easy reach of the Portuondo Campsite, there are many villages and other sites recognised as tourist attractions, such as Mundaka, Bakio, Bermeo, Gernika and Elantxobe.

Urban tourism 
Visitors can also make a trip to the provincial capital of Bilbao, where they can enjoy everything that the ancient “iron city” has to offer, including the famous Guggenheim museum, which is changing Bilbao’s nickname to “the titanium city”

Gastronomic tourism 
One of the Basque Country’s main attractions is its gastronomy, which can be enjoyed in any of the Basque cities and villages. Why not start in the Portuondo Restaurant, famous for its fresh fish and shellfish?
